No experience? No problem! Join us for a fun, hands-on sewing workshop with special guest artist Laurel Small Batch Goods! Learn basic sewing skills while creating your own patchwork scrunchie and tote bag using secondhand fabrics.

Meet your instructor

Cassandra (she/her/ella) is a self-taught sewist from Austin,TX. She creates clothing and accessories using secondhand and deadstock fabric under the name Laurel Small Batch Goods. She also facilitates beginner sewing workshops in both English and Spanish throughout the Austin area with a focus on using secondhand materials. She believes everyone should have the opportunity to learn a new skill and express their creativity in spaces that celebrate everyone’s identities, background, and experiences.
