About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

This in-person event will cover undertaking evaluation of gender equity and violence prevention initiatives in sport.

As the final in-person CoP in this series, this event will include 45 minutes of dedicated networking time.

Further details of speakers, presentations and activities will be available closer to the date.

The session aims to:

  • Build capacity to embed evaluation as a critical learning and improvement tool rather than just a measurement of outcomes.
  • Demystify evaluation by reframing it as a reflective, ongoing process tied to planning and learning—not just project success or failure.
  • Build foundational skills in project logic development, outcome setting, and data collection planning.
  • Share practical tools and resources, including Respect Victoria’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Toolkit, to support evaluation activities.
  • Foster peer learning through the exchange of strategies to evaluate projects that are culturally relevant, participatory, and gender transformative.
  • Promote inclusive evaluation by centring the voices of women, girls, and gender-diverse participants through consultations, focus groups, and gender audits.
  • Encourage continuous improvement by discussing how findings can inform future planning, governance, and organisational learning.

Do you have an online option?

More information:

The Safe and Inclusive Sport Community of Practice (CoP) is a series of information sessions and workshops designed for sport and primary prevention sector leaders. It is a chance to share learnings, ideas and evidenced-based approaches for engaging community sports and volunteers in relation to preventing gender-based violence.

Sport and Recreation Victoria have engaged Myriad Global to deliver the CoP initiative.

The CoP sessions include a mix of face-to-face and online options and will be held from December 2024 – June 2025.
