'Ghosts of England' special class

Anthony Lo-Giudice Dance has a new dance show at Middlesbrough Town Hall at 7.30pm. For our September class, you can learn rep from the new show Ghosts of England and learn more about the creative process before watching the piece.

'My work is often a poetic treatment of folkloric tales, tragic romances and references to mixed heritage anxieties that are communicated through the mediums of dance, theatre and gestural tableaux.

I aim to make work that meditates on the beauty, darkness and fragility of human existence.'

Anthony is a contemporary dance artist based in the North of England who works across the UK and Europe. He currently works as a dance theatre choreographer, a performer, and a dance tutor.

About class

This class is open to dance practitioners of all abilities and experiences and is perfect for anyone who hasn't danced for a while. We want to create a supportive environment that allows anyone trained in dance many moons ago to return and reignite their love for dance. Perhaps a dance teacher running their own dance school who wants to move for their own enjoyment.

Our programme for Dance Practitioners is subsidised, and therefore, participants must meet the following criteria to benefit from this provision.

Participants must:

Be over 18 years old.

No longer be studying within a formal education context.

Hold a completed qualification in creative arts at Level 5 (foundation degree) or Level 6 (undergraduate degree) or higher, or an equivalent e.g., Scottish Bachelor's Degree or international qualification. As well as artists working professionally with more informal training.

Be currently based in or from the North East (Tees Valley, County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear)

Please note that spaces for professional activities are limited and offered to those who meet the above criteria to ensure those who are pursuing a career in dance can access suitable training, support and professional development to meet their needs within the professional dance industry. TeesDance reserves the right to amend the qualifying criteria where appropriate.
