About this event

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun, music, and learning at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music’s monthly Saturday Family Day! From 1–5 pm, enjoy FREE admission to the museum and a variety of activities designed for kids and adults of all ages.

This month, we’re celebrating Literacy Month with special programming:

  • Author Alice Faye Duncan will give an exclusive preview reading from her upcoming children’s book about B.B. King.
  • Creative writing workshops for children and youth will inspire the next generation of storytellers.
  • Plus, enjoy live music, food trucks, arts & crafts, games, and more throughout the day.

Family Day is all about opening doors to the arts, history, and culture while providing a fun, welcoming space for the community. Explore the entire museum—including the newly renovated lobby, gift shop, and lounge—completely free of charge.

Join us as we celebrate literacy, Memphis music history, and the soulful legacy of Stax Records.
