Transitions is hosting Sensory Santa's Workshops!

While there’s no denying that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, it’s also one of the most hectic. And while many of us enjoy the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, bright lights, crowded malls and loud music can be overwhelming for people with autism spectrum disorder or sensory processing disorder.

But we believe that everyone deserves a wonderful Christmas experience and to visit with Santa! Over the past few years, “Sensory-Friendly Santa” has been making his way across malls, in an effort to give people with special needs the chance to comfortably visit with him - and of course, tell him what they want for Christmas!

Guests of all ages are welcome to meet with our Sensory-Friendly Santa at Transitions' Mayfield campus on Tuesday, December 9, and their Albany campus on Friday, December 12. This free event is sensory-friendly and open to all. Everyone who attends will get a gift and photo from Santa. Crafts and cookie decorating will also be provided during their visit. Pre-registration is required. For more information, please call (518) 661-9932.
