Event description

Description

Join Work In Progress resident Tali Weinberg for a workshop on the process of materializing climate data as small woven tapestries. The workshop will start with a discussion, writing exercise, and group brainstorming session in which attendees will reflect on landscape, color, and one's relationship to place in the context of anthropogenic climate change. Participants will then select a climate dataset and create unique color-codes before creating a personal weaving.

In preparation for the workshop, please bring at least one image of a landscape, place, or flora that is meaningful to you. If you can bring multiple images, even better! Ideally, these should be printed so that they can easily be shared. They do not need to be high quality.

Tali Weinberg is a multidisciplinary artist whose current research traces the entangled relationships between climate change, extractive industry, illness, and displacement. Learn more HERE.

You can visit Tali's installation for Work In Progress from July 1 -31, at TAC Manhattan studio, and learn more about her work and process during Artist Open Hours, on Saturdays 2-5PM.
