Overview

Get ready to dive into the world of senior care with Senior Gems Training - it's going to be informative and engaging!

We understand how challenging and emotional it can be to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia. That’s why we’re offering a special Senior Gems® Training designed specifically for family caregivers like you.

The Senior Gems® Program, developed by Teepa Snow, is based on the Allen Cognitive Theory, which provides a framework for understanding how dementia affects the brain at various stages. This theory helps caregivers recognize and respond to changes in cognition, behavior, and abilities, providing tools to offer the most appropriate care at each stage of your loved one’s journey.

What is the Allen Cognitive Theory? The Allen Cognitive Theory focuses on the understanding that people with dementia experience cognitive changes that affect their abilities to process information, make decisions, and interact with their environment. By identifying where a person is on the cognitive scale, caregivers can adjust their approach to communication, activities, and caregiving to match their loved one's current abilities — leading to more effective care and greater peace of mind.

This training will give you practical tools and deeper insight into how dementia affects your loved one at each stage. With this knowledge, you'll learn how to respond with more understanding and confidence — leading to less frustration and more meaningful connection in your day-to-day care.
