Description

Self-regulation Development: Support Strategies to Decrease Disruptive Behavior

Regulating emotions to successfully respond to life's everyday challenges is a key building block to academic and social success. For many students, this skill set needs to be explicitly taught and supported. In this workshop, specific behavior management techniques that focus on problem prevention and defusing emotionally charged situations will be introduced. Practical, easy to implement, evidenced-based methods will be discussed and practiced. Each attendee will receive an emotional empowerment wall pocket system that can be incorporated into their classroom.

Objectives for participants include learning how to implement a visually supported self-regulation system; identifying strategies to prevent challenging behaviors; and identifying key components of successful behavior intervention plans.

Pre-registration is required! The cost is $120 (This fee includes LUNCH, as well as a light breakfast.). The File Factor Emotional Empowerment System is INCLUDED with the workshop.

*Attendees will receive an attendance certificate for a 4.5-hour workshop.

**To pay by check, go to www.thelaurafoundation.org to download a paper registration & payment address.
