Overview

Plant seeds now and set them outside, where they will start growing as soon as Spring warmth arrives. Extra supplies available to share.

Join us for a hands-on planting workshop and get a head start on Spring gardening and habitat projects! We will guide you through Winter Sowing, a super simple growing process that lets nature provide the care all winter long. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced gardener, this workshop will help you kick start your projects and guide you through the whole process, teaching you tips and tricks for handling seeds and caring for your springtime plants. We aim for an inclusive, relaxed, community atmosphere.

Please gather and bring transparent milk-jug style containers (NO CAPS) if you can, to help guarantee we have plenty for everyone! We happily support you bringing your own native or vegetable seeds.

This is a donation-supported event. Please donate (on site) to help us continue our offerings all year long! We want everyone to have nature, no matter their personal situation, so we suggest a donation for each planted jug between complimentary (free) and $6.

There will be an orientation talk at the start of each block. Come early if you don't want to miss that walkthrough. For others, arrive any time and stay with us as long as you like. Volunteers will be on site to help.

Volunteers don't register ... instead add your name and availability here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Zvpxr8KqsBBzIZJV3N6ruJi7jVQjMoqb3nM1Bp10JS0/edit?usp=sharing

Based on when you plan to arrive, register for only one time slot per person!

  • Morning Arrival between 10 AM & Noon
  • Afternoon Arrival between Noon & 2 PM

We encourage Winter Sowing participants to take part in our May Up-Potting events, where we will share our bounty and make the next step of growth in enjoyable community sharing way. That Up-Potting event also helps us deal with all the extra plants that some of us will have and gives each of us access to species that we did not grow. Consider returning to complete that step with us.
