Seeds & Stories: Journaling the Garden Life

Seeds & Stories: Journaling the Garden Life

By UF/IFAS Extension Osceola County

Overview

Documenting your gardening adventures can deepen your connection with the earth, improve your planning, and celebrate your growth.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, documenting your gardening journey can deepen your connection to the soil, sharpen your planning, and celebrate your growth. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to create and maintain a personalized garden journal—from the first spark of inspiration to seed selection, planting, and harvest results.

Through guided activities and creative prompts, you'll explore:

  • Planning with Purpose: Setting goals and designing your garden layout
  • Seed Stories: Tracking varieties, sources, and germination success
  • Seasonal Snapshots: Recording weather patterns, bloom times, and pest management
  • Harvest Highlights: Measuring yields, flavor notes, and lessons learned
  • Creative Expression: Using sketches, photos, and reflections to enrich your journal

Participants will leave with a starter journal, templates, and inspiration to continue documenting their gardening adventures throughout the seasons.

For individuals who require special ADA accommodations, please contact us at 321-697-3000 at least 10 business days prior to the program.
