Join teachers from across NSW to learn about sediments and soils. There will be lots of hand-on investigations and resources for you to take away. There will be lots activities that you can conduct with your students from K-12. By the end of the day you will be in awe of the diversity and wonders of sands, sediments and soils. We take no responsibility if you become an arenophile after this day. For EES teachers this is a chance to learn and practice some of the NEW content that has now been specified in the new HSC EES syllabus such as the use of soil texture triangles.
This fun day full of fantastic ideas for teaching about soils and sediments in an engaging way is proudly presented to you by AusEarthEd, hosted by the Georges River Environmental Education Centre.
This will also be a chance to discuss field work activities and excursions as you check out the wonderful facilities.
Bring along some soil and sand samples to share with others. There will be plenty for you to take away too so bring some ziplock bags and a carry bag. You never know you may end up with a stunning garnet sand from Canada or a black sand sample from Tasmania.
As this event is FREE to attend it is not catered so you will need to bring your own food and drink. Please bring a reusable cup or mug if you would like to sample some of our fruit and herb infused waters.
