The beauty of the sitar in the hands of a master must be experienced as it cannot adequately be described. John's execution of the ragas will be preceded with a bit of teaching about the Indian ragas. Soundwise has hosted John numerous times and this event has always sold out.

Mats, cushions and blankets are provided should you choose to recline on the carpetted floor, or you may bring your own mats, etc. Chairs are provided for those who prefer or need to be seated. Whether you choose to participate as a meditation to journey within or simply listen and enjoy, watching the magic take place through such skillful playing, or a bit of both, this is an oppportunity to delight in the beauty of sound and music in whatever way you are most comfortable. While some people also find the music of the sitar entertaining, it is more than that as John will share with us. You choose how you will experience these ancient sounds and rhythms.

If you are prone to snoring, we respectfully request that you choose a chair, or prop yourself up with extra pillows on the floor.

Join us afterwards for a cup of tea, connection or networking with your fellow soundscape travelers if you like.

20% of the profits for this event will benefit the Soundwise School Scholarship Fund.

Please note that you will enter the Liberty Place building through the wooden doors on the left front of the building on Liberty St. Someone will be there to let you in from 5:30-5:50. After that the door is locked. There will be no one there to let you in. You may take the stairs or elevator to the second floor. Accessible parking and entrance.
