Sebastian Junger: In Conversation with Pace University

Please join us for a live in conversation event with award winning author, journalist, war correspondent and documentary film director Sebastian Junger. Topics from his books and films address war, peace, freedom and belonging. Junger will also speak about the documentary film process and his own life experiences.

Jerry McKinstry, Senior Director of Public Affairs, will be moderating the event. The author will be autographing books following the presentation. Photos will be permitted.

Tickets are $30 which include a signed copy of either "Freedom" or "Tribe." Additional books, including The Perfect Storm, will be available for purchase at the event.

Veterans and Pace students can attend at no cost with book purchase optional.

A portion of all proceeds will go towards Pace's OASIS program which provides comprehensive support to neurodiverse and differently abled students meet and rise above their challenges through a successful college experience.

The event will take place at the Kessel Student Center at Pace University, 861 Bedford Road, Pleasantville NY 10570. Please enter through Entrance 1 and have identification and proof of vaccination ready and the security personnel will direct you to parking.

About Sebastian Junger...

Sebastian Junger is a New York Times bestselling author, co-director of the documentary film "Restrepo" and director of the HBO documentary "The Last Patrol." As a journalist and a special war correspondent, Junger has covered major international news stories around the world, and has received both a National Magazine Award and a Peabody Award. Junger's debut film "Restrepo", a feature-length documentary (co-directed with Tim Hetherington), was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.

Junger has produced and directed three additional documentaries about war and its aftermath. "Which Way Is The Front Line From Here?" premiered on HBO and chronicled the life and career of his friend and colleague, photojournalist Tim Hetherington, who was tragically killed while covering the civil war in Libya in 2011. "The Last Patrol" also premiered on HBO, and examined the psychological complexities of returning from war and how society can learn more bout coming together.

His reporting on Afghanistan in 2000, profiling Northern Alliance leader Ahmed Shah Massoud, who was assassinated just days before 9/11, became the subject of the National Geographic documentary "Into the Forbidden Zone," and introduced America to the Afghan resistance fighting the Taliban.
