Maya, what made you want to ask Julia to be your guest?

Aside from having a deep appreciation of Julia's poetry, I'm especially curious how our similar coastal locations (hers on one end of the country and mine on the other) have shown up in our work. Also, I'd love to hear more about how her other practices (i.e., yoga) have influenced her creativity.

What is a "Conversation in Poetry"?

It is like a regular conversation, only instead of dialogue, the exchange is centered on sharing poems.

Will you be reading poetry the whole time?

Accepted Answer

No, but if you enjoy listening to poetry, there will be plenty of it here! We will also have an informal, spontaneous exchange inspired by the poems that get shared. And there'll be opportunities to ask questions throughout the event.

Is there a cost to attend?

Accepted Answer

There are 40 free tickets  available, as well as 250 tickets by donation ($10 suggested). More donation-based tickets will be added if event count goes past 300.
