About this event
A half-day workshop for parents who want to reclaim balance, calm, and connection at home
We live in a world filled with noise about kids and screen usage — endless rules and opinions about how much screen time is “too much.” Many parents carry guilt and shame about how much time their children spend on screens, while quietly struggling with their own screen habits.
This workshop invites you to let go of that guilt and shame. Together, we will acknowledge that screens are here to stay — and that they can play a positive role in our lives. Screens can help children learn, find calm, spark joy, and even bring families together. Sometimes, that’s exactly what we need as parents — a moment of connection or simply a much-needed break.
But screens can also cross a line. There is a psychology behind screen addiction — the point where digital use shifts from helpful to harmful. Excessive screen time can disrupt sleep, reduce attention span, increase irritability and meltdowns, and interfere with real-world social connections and learning. Over time, this can affect children’s mood, motivation, and even family relationships.
The good news is that when families begin to understand and rebalance their relationship with screens, the benefits are profound. Parents report more peaceful routines, better focus, improved sleep, deeper connections, and a renewed sense of calm and cooperation at home.
In this workshop, we will explore:
- The psychology of screen use and digital addiction
- How to recognise when screens are serving your family — and when they are taking over
- Strategies to gently help children (and adults) shift toward healthier screen habits
- Ways to create realistic, family-specific boundaries that truly fit your household — not someone else’s
There are no strict rules, prescriptions, or “shoulds” here. Instead, you will be guided through a reflective process to understand your own family’s dynamics and needs. By the end, you will walk away with clarity, compassion, and a personalised approach to screen use that supports harmony, connection, and emotional wellbeing in your home.
💬 Post-Workshop Support
To help you put what you have learned into action, this workshop also includes two weeks of post-workshop support. During this time, you will receive guidance, encouragement, and accountability as you experiment with strategies that work for your family’s unique rhythm and needs — turning insight into lasting change.
