Screens Without Shame: A Workshop for Parents & Children (6 - 14 years)
Overview
In today’s world, families are surrounded by noise about kids and screen use — endless rules, opinions, and guilt. Many parents worry about how much time their children spend on screens, often while struggling with their own habits.
This half-day workshop for parents and children offers a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore healthy screen use and build emotional resilience.
For Parents:
Guided by Chelvi, Founder of Let’s Unplug Together, therapeutic social worker, coach, and mindfulness teacher with 25+ years’ experience working with families and individuals.
- Release guilt and understand the psychology of screen use and digital addiction.
- Learn when screens can help (offering calm, joy, and connection) and when they start to harm (disrupting sleep, concentration, mood, and relationships).
- Discover practical strategies to gently shift habits, create healthy digital boundaries, and find what truly works for your family — without rigid rules or judgment.
- Gain clarity, confidence, and tools to restore focus, cooperation, and calm in your household.
For Children:
Guided by Fiona, intuitive coach, parent educator, and children’s group facilitator with a Waldorf background.
- Children will explore ways to find inner calm without screens and emotionally regulate themselves.
- Learn creative ways to connect with family, friends, and life, enjoying activities without relying on devices.
- Voice their thoughts and experiences with screens, including struggles, peer pressure, and inner influences.
- Build an emotionally healthy relationship with screens, understanding how to balance digital life with real-world experiences.

About Chelvi
Chelvi is the Founder of Let’s Unplug Together, a parent, and a qualified Therapeutic Social Worker with over twenty five years of experience supporting families. She is also a Coach, Nudge Education Practitioner, and Meditation Teacher, specialising in helping people break free from addictive patterns and live fuller, more balanced lives.
With deep expertise in the psychology of addiction, Chelvi helps individuals and families understand the emotional and behavioural roots of dependency—particularly around digital and screen use—and supports them in creating lasting, compassionate change.
For the past five years, she has been running mindfulness sessions for parents and children, creating calm, nurturing spaces where families can reconnect and build emotional resilience together. Over the years, she has witnessed first-hand the harm that screen addiction can cause—especially its effects on children’s wellbeing, relationships, and confidence.
Having also faced her own struggles with screen use and seen its impact on her own daughter, Chelvi brings empathy, honesty, and lived understanding to her work. Drawing on her personal journey, her deep understanding of human behaviour, and her therapecutic social work and coaching background, she has developed practical strategies to help her own family—and many others—find a healthier balance in the digital age.
Through Let’s Unplug Together, Chelvi’s vision is to create a supportive community of empowered parents who feel confident, skilled, and inspired to make meaningful changes in their homes. She believes that screens can have a healthy, mindful place in family life—used without guilt, for learning, connection, or rest. But when technology starts to tip into excess or harm, Chelvi helps parents intervene with clarity, compassion, and confidence.
At the heart of her mission is a passion for helping families rediscover calm, connection, and purpose in an increasingly digital world. In her workshops, Chelvi gently guides parents to see the bigger picture, uncover the deeper drivers behind digital habits, and develop practical, mindful strategies to nurture a home life filled with love, balance, and real-world connection.
