About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for an evening of storytelling with Jack Faint, an endurance athlete on a mission to become the first person to run the length of India - 4,000km in 80 days, from the Himalayan mountains all the way to Kerala.

Diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour at 25, Jack turned to ultra-running as a way to respond to the unimaginable - using movement as both a coping mechanism and a call to action.

About this event:

Like many facing illness or loss, Jack couldn’t control the medical outcome. But he realised he could control how he chose to respond. Using his position to inspire others facing adversity, to find strength in their struggle, all while shifting the narrative around terminal illness.

Jack seeks to find ways to ease the burden of others through his fundraising efforts.

As the prevalence of cancer increases and begins to impact more young people, its ripples of devastation touch more and more lives.

We’ll be joined by Jack, who shares how an ordinary day, for a normal 25-year-old, ended with the life-altering news that he had a brain tumor, a terminal illness. After gathering himself, Jack sought to make his difference by turning his pain into purpose through embracing the world of ultra-running. Jack embarks on a journey to become the first person to run the length of India. To raise funds for cancer, contributing to softening the suffering of others.

Covering 4000km, broken up into 50km segments, for 80 days. From the snow-capped Himalayan mountains, southward to Kerala. Jack will need to negotiate with his fears, his body and the road — all while relying on grit and chai.

Jack has previously run from Cape Town to Nature's Valley, a 656km journey in 14 days.

“It’s about challenging what’s possible when we choose courage over fear.”

Join us for an evening of honest storytelling.

Bring your questions and love for resilience and grit.

This is a fundraiser event, and we’ll be wrapping up the evening with a prize raffle in support of Jack’s run.
