Schools and Education for Children with Attachment Disorder and Developmental Traumas - presented by Verity and Leanne

  • Is your child struggling in school because of issues due to trauma and separation causing emotionally based school avoidance?
  • Do you feel that their teachers just don't understand their needs?
  • Are you battling to get the help and support they need in school?

Verity and Leanne will discuss their lived experiences with the school and education system and the failings that caused their children to become emotionally avoidant in their school attendance.T

hey will give insight into how to tackle the system, including what they would have done if they had had the foresight to know what they know now when their children were in primary school.

They will talk about how to manage meetings with school, prevent being fobbed off by bureaucracy or falling through the gaps. This will include discussion around Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and support plans being put in place and how pupil premium is being spent for your child as an individual.

It will discuss the common triggers for children with these issues and how to challenge teachers to be more understanding of what's behind the behaviours rather than just seeing what's Infront of them.Learn how our children mask their emotions in school, then burnout to the point where they are emotionally unable to attend school. This is due to environmental factors that need changing within school and NOT our parenting.
