Katherine Tyrrell retired early in 2005 and has been now been writing about art and artists for nearly 20 years. In that time, she has
• developed popular art blogs writing blogs ("Making A Mark" is a top 10 art blog with c.23 million page views),
• two leading websites - https://www.botanicalartandartists.com/ (#1 in the world for botanical art) and https://www.artbusinessinfo.com/
• plus has written a book about drawing and sketching and several articles for "The Artist" Magazine.
• She has also advised artists and delivered numerous talks, mainly about the business side of art.
Katherine's background is in business and financial management, problem solving and performance analysis and improvement. She brings the same perspectives to the art world and the business of being an artist and marketing and selling art.
In her past life, she was the Finance Lead for major multi-million pound government grant programmes. Her development and application of strict criteria to assess grant applications, including a focus on delivery capabilities, enabled her organisation to deliver very successful outcomes from grant funding. This in turn attracted more grant funding from the government.
