SB 79 Implementation
By Abundant Housing LA
Online event
Overview
From State Law to Local Action!
SB 79 is now state law, but passing the bill was only the first step. How cities choose to implement it will determine whether it actually leads to more homes, or gets watered down at the local level.
In this virtual briefing, Abundant Housing LA’s Policy and Research team will review what SB 79 does, why local implementation matters, and what we are already seeing from cities that are pushing back against its intent.
This event will prepare housing advocates to understand upcoming City Council decisions and show up effectively in support of strong, pro-housing implementation.
What’s at Stake
- Cities can delay, weaken, or block SB 79 through local actions
- Poor implementation could limit new housing near transit
- Strong implementation can unlock more homes and better affordability
What You’ll Learn
