Say It LOUD! Staying Connected through Storytelling
Overview
We’re all yearning for a just and thriving society - one where our friends, family, neighbors are tightly connected in a beloved community. And yet, political forces are actively working to divide communities, weaken institutions, and pit us against one another. So it's time for nonprofit leaders to draw on one of humanity’s oldest and most powerful tools: storytelling.
Stories build bridges. They spark empathy. And they remind us of our shared humanity, especially when fear and misinformation attempt to tear us apart.
In this interactive workshop, the NEW team will share practical strategies for using storytelling to strengthen your organization’s message, connect across lines of difference, and mobilize support. You’ll learn how to tell stories that not only reflect your mission and values, but also meet this moment with courage and clarity.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn strategies for crafting powerful stories in values-centered ways
- Explore how storytelling can be used to counter division and advance your mission
- Practice telling your story, so you're ready to connect with diverse audiences
This workshop is for nonprofit leaders ready to use their voices and lead with their values in a time when our stories could be what save us.
