Our local historians will bring it all to life as you stroll the waterfront, sharing the scandals, characters, and stories that shaped Sausalito’s one-of-a-kind spirit.
What You’ll Experience:
• Visit iconic and hidden landmarks throughout historic downtown Sausalito
• Stories of Fleetwood Mac, the Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, and more
• See rare archival photos and maps from the Historical Society’s collection
• Enjoy a scenic waterfront stroll with killer views of the city
Tour Highlights Include:
· See the foundation of William Randolph Hearst’s first castle
· Learn about its 1903 fully electric railroad
· Hear stories of gamblers, smugglers, & the famous San Francisco madam who became Sausalito’s mayor
· Discover its iconic music history: where Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Bob Marley & others recorded albums
What to Expect:
· Walk approximately 1 mile on level ground (wheelchair accessible)
· Dress for 55–70°F weather
· Limited to 10 guests
