SATYA Sundays: Somatic Awareness for Yogis with Tina Rath
Overview
Offered once a month, this special 90 minute SATYA class explores the full potential of this special practice. SATYA or Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement, was created by Tias Little and guides students away from "doing" the practice towards sensing, feeling, and being movement.
The rhythmic and purposeful SATYA movements - a combination of dance, Feldenkries and myofascial release - slowly open the body and prepare the mind for powerful explorations of familiar, strong and dynamic yoga poses.
We will use chairs, blocks, straps and blankets to encourage the body to move into positions with heightened awareness and previously inaccessible depth. The use of these tools makes potent body and mind revelations possible.
To support the sangha (community), a brief discussion period will follow the practice where students can get to know their fellow practitioners by asking questions and share their thoughts and ideas that arise from the practice.
Tickets are $35.
We offer BIPOC scholarships! Reach out to hello@mygreenyogi.com for more info.
