Staff from the RI Coastal Resources Management Council and the URI Coastal Institute will be on hand to talk about shoreline access rights in Rhode Island, where you can find rights-of-way in this neighborhood, and some of the things Warwick has done to improve access. Total walking distance is about 1.2 miles.
This event is sponsored by CRMC, Rhode Island Sea Grant, and the URI Coastal Institute.
NOTE: Please plan ahead - there is limited parking at the Sandy Point Beach lot. If that is full, we suggest parking in the right-of-way at the end of Bradford Avenue or on Hopkins Road and walking to the Sandy Point meeting spot.
Accessibility: The walk will take place along Ives Road, Bradford Ave., Hale Ave., and Charlotte Drive. We will walk down to/on the beach (optional for participants) at stops along the route. Some of these stops include stairs. If you have questions regarding accessibility, please contact Monica Allard Cox at allard@uri.edu.
