Safe Space Studio is a free creative wellness workshop for young people ages 13-18, hosted by artists Lady Vic and Ayiana Viviana as part of Gun Violence Awareness Month. Held in Germantown, this event responds to the impact of gun violence on young people in Philadelphia — offering meditation and intuitive painting as tools for healing, self-expression, and release.
The workshop begins with a grounding meditation led by Lady Vic, designed to help participants feel calm, centered, and connected to their bodies — providing practical tools for managing stress and anxiety.
Following the meditation, Ayiana Viviana will guide participants through an intuitive painting session, encouraging them to create freely and use color, shape, and movement to express emotions that may be hard to name or talk about. No art experience is needed — just a willingness to explore and let go.
Safe Space Studio honors the creativity and resilience of Germantown’s youth, creating space for rest, reflection, and joy in the face of the ongoing trauma of gun violence in our neighborhoods.
