About this event

Parents, would your babysitter know what to do if your child began to choke?

Injuries are a part of childhood, but many avoidable and unintentional deaths can be prevented. The Safe Sitter® program has helped over 600,000 young teens across the country learn basic lifesaving and safety techniques. The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, Graham Fire & Rescue, and Orting Valley Fire & Rescue are proud to offer Safe Sitter® to our community.
This medically-accurate course helps young teens in grades 6 through 8 feel more confident in their ability to care for younger children. It can even help them feel more comfortable staying home alone. As a parent, you’ll feel more secure having a Safe Sitter® in your home. The Safe Sitter® program may save someone you love.

In this course, students will learn:

Safety Skills: Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.

First Aid & Rescue Skills and CPR: Learning skills such as choking rescue is often students’ favorite part of the class. Students also learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Students will also learn the basics of CPR.
