Safe Boating Course

Starting on January 1, 2025, all operators of motorized boats – including personal watercraft – must have a New York State boating certificate. East Hampton Town Chief Harbormaster Timothy Treadwell will offer the required boating safety course and exam at the Montauk Library on Tuesday, June 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants, who must be 10 years or older at the time of the class, Participants will receive a temporary certificate upon successful completion of the course and exam..

There is no charge for the course, only a $10 fee to the state for a permanent certificate.

The class will be limited to 30 participants
