The Run Fit Crew invites the Bowie community and those in surrounding areas to join us for a group run. We do not run the entire time! This group run is a run/walk interval style workout designed for those with a beginner fitness level (Level II). Refer to the below explanation to determine your fitness level.
Beginner Level I - Not physically active
Beginner Level II - Walks 15-30 minutes (continuous) for at least 1-3 days per week
Beginner Level III - Walks 30 minutes or more (continuous) for 3 or more days per week
If you feel you fall under Level I, you are still encouraged to attend. This run is on a loop and if you fall behind you will not get lost.
The run will be led by RRCA certified run coach, Army Veteran and Bowie resident, Coach Patricia.
We will meet at the Melford Town Center by the gazebo on the corner of Lake Melford Ave and Melford Blvd. From the direction of Belair Drive or Crain Hwy, Belair Drive turns into Melford Blvd. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit remaining on Melford Blvd. Turn left onto Lake Melford Ave and the gazebo will be on the left. This is a new area and there are plenty of places to park along the road.
All attendees will be required to sign a liability waiver to participate. This run may be cancelled due to inclement weather and rescheduled for a later date.
Cold bottled water and post-workout snacks will be provided for attendees.
We will have Run Fit Crew t-shirts available for $20 while supplies last.

Frequently asked questions
Children and pets are not allowed for safety reasons. Although routes are carefully planned, there will be occasions where we may have to briefly run in the street and cross major intersections. We will always use the crosswalk where possible and will remain diligent of vehicles at all times.
Group runs start with stretching and a warm-up (brisk walk), followed by walk/run intervals. For instance, we will run for 30 seconds, walk for one minute, and repeat until we have completed the planned distance. You don’t have to be able to run but you have to be willing to try.
