Open House Overview: In addition to our keynote speaker, we will conduct an abridged and brief Toastmasters meeting: prepared speech, evaluation, and table topics. This will give the audience a terrific opportunity to observe Toastmasters in action. Free food will also be available to those attending in person.

Keynote Speaker Biography: Harold Osmundson has been an enthusiastic member of Toastmasters for over 15 years. His service in Toastmasters has revolved around clubs, chartering, building, and rebuilding many clubs during his time.

In 2017-2018, Harold served as District Director for District 6. During that term, he led one of the largest districts in the world through reformation. It was a challenging experience that provided priceless leadership lessons.

Harold served as International Director on Toastmasters International's Board of Directors from 2020 to 2022. Serving and leading during the pandemic was a great honor and opportunity to contribute during challenging times.

As a Board member, Harold served as a working ambassador for the organization. He worked with the Board to develop, support, and modify the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.

For his continued contributions to Toastmasters, Harold received the prestigious Presidential Citation from Toastmasters International in 2025.

Harold lives with his wife, Janet, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both Distinguished Toastmasters, they enjoy their Toastmasters journey together.

Professionally, Harold has worked as a software engineer for the last 20 years. He owns a software consulting business and remains a practitioner. Harold studied Information Systems and Computer Science at the University of Minnesota.

Outside of Toastmasters and professional work, Harold spends his time reading, struggling through home-improvement projects, and has recently started working on cars. He’s a constant learner and a lifelong student of leadership.

When visiting you will have a chance to see a Toastmasters club in action. As a guest, you can participate in an impromptu speaking opportunity--if you want to! We will deliver prepared speeches, impromptu evaluations, and always some brief improv speeches. A variety of topics are always covered--as speakers have autonomy to decide what they want to speak on. Be prepared to laugh-- humor is frequent. Our club excels in giving busy adults flexibility both with attendance, speech topics and goals while guiding you through the education program. We look forward to meeting you at our next meeting!

When you register you will receive information on how to access our meeting--either using online access or by attending in person.
