Rotate: An Ambigram In-Person Workshop

Overview

Step into the magical world of ambigrams, discover their connection to traditional typography, and learn how to create your own!

Think ambigrams are pure magic? Well, not exactly—but creating them does involve lots of sketching, relentless erasing, and some clever thinking! We’ll kick things off with a jaunt through ambigram history, trace their ties to traditional typography, and explore some examples. Next, we’ll dive into in-depth case studies that reveal the tricks of successful ambigrams—and show what can happen when the design process goes sideways. Then it’s your turn: grab a pencil, a marker, and your favorite eraser to turn letters (pun fully intended) into an ambigram or two of your very own!
