Welcome to the Roots & Routes Opening Reception!
Roots & Routes is the inaugural group exhibition of the Colorado South Asian Artists Group (C-SAAG) - a newly formed collective of multidisciplinary artists with ancestral ties to South Asia, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. This landmark exhibition highlights the vibrant creative expressions of South Asian diaspora artists living and working in Colorado.
Through painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and mixed media, artists explore themes of identity, belonging, migration, memory, and cultural inheritance. The title Roots & Routes captures both the grounding of ancestral heritage and the evolving journeys of diaspora - how cultural memory travels, adapts, and transforms across borders.
