Overview

Addressing the Strong Black Woman & Grief Using somatic care, discussion & self-reflection.

The Strong Black Woman (SBW) schema has long been praised as a badge of honour; a symbol of strength, resilience, and perseverance.
But behind that strength, many Black women quietly carry layers of exhaustion, grief, and emotional suppression.

Rooted & Restored is a gentle space to pause, release, and reconnect.
To remember that rest, softness, and support are also your birthright.

This workshop invites Black women, and those who care for and work with them, to explore how the SBW narrative has shaped our collective experience and how we can begin to unlearn, heal, and root ourselves in restoration.

What We’ll Explore:

Through conversation, reflection, and grounding practices, we’ll unpack:
🌱 The history and impact of the Strong Black Woman schema
💔 Grief and emotional fatigue that often go unspoken
🧘🏾‍♀️ EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) & somatic grounding tools
🖊️ Guided journaling & open discussion
🛠️ Practical, culturally grounded strategies for emotional restoration

You’ll walk away with both insight and tangible tools to support your wellness journey and the women you serve and love.

Who It’s For

  • Black women seeking safe, affirming spaces for healing and reflection
  • Therapists, caregivers, and allies who support Black women
  • Anyone ready to move from survival mode to rest, regulation, and rootedness
