For Indigenous relatives, Have you ever thought…

🔹 "What tools can I use to support my community while navigating non-Indigenous systems or partners?"

🔹 "How do I balance cultural preservation with the need for innovation and collaboration?"

🔹 "What does cultural safety look like in my work—and how can I cultivate it for others?"

🔹 "How do I strengthen or reclaim traditional knowledge in the context of modern challenges and opportunities?"

For non-Indigenous relatives, Have you ever thought…
🔹 “We want to build partnerships with Tribes, but we’re not sure where to start?”
🔹 “I’m worried about saying or doing the wrong thing—how do we approach this respectfully?”
🔹 “Our team wants to engage with Indigenous communities, but are we even ready?”
🔹 “How do we ensure we’re not being extractive or performative in our work with Tribal Nations?”
🔹 “What do Tribal Nations actually look for in a partnership?”
🔹 “How can we shift internally to better support Indigenous sovereignty?”

If any of this sounds familiar, this session is for you.

Session Description:

Rooted in Relation is a training experience designed for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous changemakers who are committed to building meaningful, respectful, and values-driven partnerships with Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities.

For non-Indigenous participants, this training offers an opportunity to build self-awareness, cultural understanding, and the skills necessary to engage in non-extractive, reciprocal relationships with Indigenous communities. You’ll learn how to listen deeply, align with Indigenous values, and approach collaboration with humility and long-term commitment.

For Indigenous attendees, this space also serves as a place of affirmation and empowerment—offering tools and strategies to lead change within your own Nations, organizations, and communities. We will uplift Indigenous knowledge systems and explore ways to lead with cultural integrity while navigating cross-sector collaboration.

Through Indigenous-led facilitation, participants will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of Indigenous values such as reciprocity, relational accountability, cultural safety, and self-determination.
  • Explore the concept of being “in right relation” and how it applies to leadership, program development, and partnership-building.
  • Assess organizational or community readiness for engaging in meaningful Indigenous partnership work.
  • Learn how to de-center extractive practices and support Indigenous-led solutions.

Whether you are seeking to work with Tribal Nations or within them, this training offers a powerful foundation for building trust, sustaining impact, and honoring relationships.

Who Should Attend:

Indigenous professionals and practioners, Community Leaders, Indigenous Young Professionals, aspiring community leaders.

Nonprofit leaders, educators, government agencies, funders, program designers, community partners and anyone seeking to build authentic and lasting partnerships with Tribal Nations.
