Root & Return: A Winter Reset
Overview
Winter invites us to slow down, but our nervous systems often don’t know how. This gentle, grounding mini retreat is an invitation to step out of the noise of daily life and return to a steadier, calmer rhythm — supported by nature, warmth, movement, and fire.
We’ll begin with a slow, guided 1-mile walk through the forest, inspired by the Japanese practice of forest bathing (shinrin yoku). This is not a hike for speed or distance, but a quiet, mindful walk designed to help your body settle through sensory connection with the woods.
After the walk, we’ll gather indoors to warm up with tea and light snacks, allowing time to rest, hydrate, and transition.
We’ll then close the experience with a 60-minute gentle movement and meditation session by the fire, designed to support nervous system regulation and integration. Movements will be slow, accessible, and invitational, followed by a guided meditation focused on grounding, warmth, and ease.
No prior experience with yoga, meditation, or somatic practices is needed — you’ll be encouraged to listen to your body and rest whenever you need.
This gathering is:
- Slow-paced and beginner-friendly
- Designed for nervous system reset and deep grounding
- Held in a small, intimate group setting
Come as you are. Leave feeling steadier, warmer, and more connected — to yourself, the natural world, and the quiet rhythm of winter.
