▶ Manage high-stakes expectations

The New York State English Regents is a gatekeeping exam that all students in the state must pass in order to graduate from high school. This three-part exam requires students to read, comprehend, and analyze complex texts on demand and construct written responses on the spot. Its combination of high-stakes expectations, complex tasks, and challenging texts can create a daunting atmosphere for teachers and students, especially as graduation nears.

After familiarizing yourself with the features of the NYS English Regents and the invisible skills that students need to succeed on the exam, you'll have a blueprint to use as you design curriculum aligned to the test's expectations and support students to pass the exam in June.

▶ Design targeted instruction

Across twelve self-paced modules, we'll dig into relevant data to locate leverage areas for instruction, and develop targeted strategies for students performing at all levels.
