Overview
4-day Camp For Students Entering Grades 7-9 in Fall 2026
Turn up the volume on science! In this high-energy camp, campers become musicians, makers, and engineers as they explore how sound works by designing and building instruments of their own. They will experiment with vibration, frequency, pitch, and amplification to uncover the physics behind their favorite songs. Using a mix of everyday materials and maker tools—from rubber bands and PVC pipes to 3D printers and electronics, campers will craft playable instruments and compose original rhythms. It’s hands-on science with serious stage presence!
Guided Activities
- Design and construct a playable instrument using simple materials.
- Experiment with different sound waves to understand why some notes sound "good" and why some notes sound "bad".
- Learn to play a tune on your newly engineered instrument!
