Frequently asked questions

When will I get the information I need for the Orientation on August 28th?

About one week before the orientation, you'll be emailed the Zoom information and instructions to log in to the online portal for your refresher course.

Why do we need to wait so long before we get our log in instructions?

We buy the online subscriptions after registration is closed. There is an administrative time of approximately 1 week after that and before instructions can be sent out.

Where do I access the course syllabus?

The course syllabus is available to download from our website: www.ruralsimcenter.org You'll find it on the RN Refresher details page. The syllabus contains learning objectives and the main skills to be covered.

What certification will I receive after completing the course?

Our RN Refresher program is approved by the CA Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and it provides 54 hours of continuing education. You will receive an online certificate after completion. Please note; this course is for professional development only and does not include academic credit.

Is the online portion of the course scheduled or can I do my work whenever I want.

You'll be given a worksheet with recommended dates of completion for each module, but NO TIMES. We recommend you follow those dates as closely as possible and will discuss the reasons in orientation. The course is online, except the 1 day in-person for Skills+Sim, at Rural SimCenter, in Chico, CA.
