What is risograph?

The risograph printer is a copy machine that has achieved a cult following of riso zealots. Risograph, or riso, printing is a unique process that produces vibrant and textured images on paper.

What programs will be used in the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Photoshop, After Effects, and Spectrolite. We'll use these as examples, but the editing program of your choice will work too (such as Premiere, Final Cut, etc.) Also, Spectrolite is free to download and very useful for those working with risograph printing.

Question 3

How long can my animation be?

Accepted Answer

1 - 5 seconds of animation can fit on a single printed page, depending on size of the printed frames. We encourage students to print at 12 frames per second, so 5 seconds = 60 frames (which will be very small on the contact sheet).

Question 4

What will be mailed to me?

Accepted Answer

Ten copies of your 2-color print will be mailed via USPS. A high resolution scan of your print will be e-mailed to you.

Question 5

How long do I have to send over an animation for printing?

Accepted Answer

You'll have up to 1 month after the workshop to send files for print. Files must be sent in a contact sheet format, which will be discussed in the workshop.

How much is shipping?

Accepted Answer

Shipping is included in the workshop price for those located in the United States. An additional shipping fee will be applied for international shipping.
