RISEconnection was developed by RISE Together, a nationally recognized nonprofit founded in 2013 and formalized as a 501(c)(3) in 2018 by a team of recovery advocates. Our mission is to promote positive youth development through evidence-based prevention, peer support, and cultural change.

Over the last decade, we’ve partnered with more than 300 schools and impacted over 500,000 youth through storytelling, mental health education, and peer-led programming. But we realized that to support young people truly, we also needed to invest in the adults who support them—educators, counselors, mentors, youth workers, and community leaders.

In 2019, we began building a training program designed specifically for these frontline leaders. Informed by research, lived experience, and field evaluation. RISEconnection was piloted in 2020 and continues to grow as a trusted, high-impact professional development experience.

This training is grounded in:

  • Healing-Centered care
  • Social and emotional learning
  • Racial equity
  • Positive youth development frameworks
  • Real-world tools and reflective practice

What You’ll Gain:

  • Confidence to facilitate conversations around mental health, substance use, and personal empowerment
  • Skills to create safe and brave spaces where youth feel heard and respected
  • Literacy in person-first, strength-based language
  • A deeper understanding of your own biases and how to build more inclusive practices
  • Storytelling strategies to reduce stigma and build stronger connections
  • Self-regulation tools and leadership practices to prevent burnout and sustain impact

“This training gave me more than just tools—it gave me confidence, reflection, and connection. Every educator should take this.”
– High School Teacher, Wisconsin

Whether you’re in a classroom, nonprofit, youth center, or leadership role, RISEconnection will help you show up stronger—for yourself, and for the next generation.

Upon completion, participants are prepared to guide students through hands-on

RISE Projects, including RISEvoices, RISEkindness, RISEawareness, and
the RISE Hangouts— youth-led initiatives and healing-centered spaces that inspire advocacy, healing, and connection. RISEconnection bridges the gap between inspiration and action, equipping adult allies to become catalysts for lasting change.
