🎤 ABOUT THE BAND

MICHAEL JAHNZ – Lead Vocals

In 1988, Michael Jahnz’s powerful vocals caught the attention of Gary Richrath, former lead guitarist and songwriter for REO Speedwagon. At the time, Jahnz was performing with his band Vancouver in iconic Hollywood venues such as The Roxy, Whisky a Go Go, and The Troubadour — and had previously toured with Badfinger.

Richrath, fresh off $30 million in record sales with monster hits like “Ridin’ the Storm Out” and “Take It On the Run,” invited Jahnz to join his new project. Together they released Only the Strong Survive (GNP Crescendo Records, 1992) featuring original songs co-written by both artists.

Richrath once said, “Michael Jahnz is a tremendous singer and songwriter. His songs are dynamite!”

After Gary’s passing, Michael continued to carry his mentor’s spirit forward. On the 10th anniversary of Gary’s passing, the band rebranded as Richrath Project REO, determined to keep Gary’s music and memory alive with every performance.

DENNIS POCKETS – Guitar

Dennis started playing guitar at age 8 and became a fixture in the Milwaukee music scene, performing with Badd Habit and Project 3:13. After seeing REO Speedwagon live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, he fell in love with Gary Richrath’s fiery playing style. His influences include Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Randy Rhoads.

Armed with Gibson Les Pauls and Marshall amps, Dennis brings raw energy to every performance, joking, “I keep a fire extinguisher next to my amp in case my fretboard starts on fire!”

SCOTT WEBER – Keyboards

Scott began playing piano at age 6, developing his skills through classical training before moving into rock. Influenced by Elton John, Pink Floyd, and Deep Purple, his first concert was REO Speedwagon — a moment that would shape his musical journey.

Years later, Scott answered an ad to play with Gary Richrath during his solo career and became the band’s official keyboardist in 1996. Today, Scott and Michael continue to channel REO’s spirit, keeping its iconic sound alive for audiences everywhere.

ANTONIO ACEVEDO – Bass

Antonio Acevedo is a songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose musical roots run deep across genres — from rock and Latin to jazz and country. He has performed at Milwaukee’s Summerfest, the Harley 100th Anniversary, and shared stages with Head East, Night Ranger, and Kansas.

His dynamic basslines and technical skill anchor Richrath Project REO’s sound with the perfect mix of groove and grit.

ANDY CROWNOVER – Drums

Andy has been a staple in the Wisconsin music scene for over 30 years. His drumming journey began at age 6, and his first concert — REO Speedwagon in 1975 — ignited a lifelong passion.

Having played everything from R&B to hard rock, Andy brings unmatched energy and versatility to every show, driving the band’s heartbeat with power and precision.
