Rev. Deborah Send-Off Sunday

Please join the SLC Board and Staff in honoring and appreciating Rev. Deborah Phillips for her over 12 years of service at Spiritual Life Center. In 2013, Rev. Deborah began her service by facilitating a prayer group on Thursday mornings.

In 2016, she later accepted an internship offered by Rev. James Trapp and then Associate Minister Marj Bryant where she managed the Wednesday night program which became known as W.O.W. Wednesdays. She also became a regular meditator at the Sunday Experience.

In 2018, Rev. Deborah was promoted to Assistant Minister of Spiritual Life Center and became a regular Sunday Experience guest speaker and a member of the Ministry Team responsible for the Sunday Experience and Special Services. Operationally, Rev. Deborah was also part of the Production Team and, with Paula Mandella, co-coordinated production of the Sunday Experience.

During COVID, Rev. Deborah started her Discover Spirit Within podcast which has had more than 5000 downloads since its inception by listeners across the United States and 3 countries. Additionally, along with Rev. James she helped keep SLC going by recording the services so we could present a video of the full service each week.

In 2018, Rev. Deborah also took over managing SLC's community wide Fall Faith-In-Action book study creating the facilitator’s and student workbooks as well as coordinating the artists and home group registration.

In June 2023, Rev. Deborah was promoted to the Associate Minister/Operations Manager when she also became the staff liaison to the Board of Trustees and direct supervisor for team members responsible for facilities, office management, events, adult education, youth education, and retail sales, in addition to her other ministerial duties.

We are grateful for the many years and many ways that Rev. Deborah has shared her time, talent, and treasure with SLC. We wish her well on her journey to her next highest good.
