5:00 pm - Winery doors open

5:15 pm - Presentation by Art Historian Linda L. Reid: “Dr. Walter Byck and Sculpture at Paradise”

The program begins at 4:00 pm with a tour of the Return to Paradise outdoor sculpture exhibition. At 5:15 pm, art historian and artist Linda L. Reid will present a richly illustrated talk exploring the vision and legacy of Paradise Ridge Winery founder. Reid, a lecturer with Sonoma State University’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), will reflect on how Dr. Byck’s commitment to art and artists shaped the Paradise Ridge Sculpture Project into a Sonoma County landmark.

The presentation will take place in the Paradise Ridge Winery tasting room immediately following the curator’s tour.

This program is generously sponsored by Paradise Ridge Winery and made possible by donors to the Byck-Hoenselaars Fund, dedicated to celebrating and sustaining the artistic spirit of Sonoma County, in partnership with the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation.

Artists featured in Return to Paradise : Roger Berry, Riis Burwell, Karen Cusolito, Catherine Daley, Briona Hendren, Robert Hudson, Bruce Johnson, Monty Monty, Jann Nunn, Moto Ohtake, John Pashilk, John Toki, and Doug Unkrey.

Retired Press Democrat columnist Chris Smith will be present to sign and sell The Luck that Led to Paradise a new book that grew from his friendship with Walter and their many conversations together.

The tour and presentation are free, and reservations are requested. A selection of Paradise Ridge wines will be available for purchase during the event.
