Retrofitting existing apartments to create Ecovillage Communities

Please join Passive House Northwest at the Kailash Ecovillage, located in inner SE Portland, began 18 years ago by converting a run down apartment complex into an intentional community focused on more sustainable living practices.

Featuring energy efficiency upgrades, photovoltaic energy production, car sharing, rainwater harvesting, organic gardening, and community building, over a hundred residents and neighbors have participated in property improvements over the years.

In May 2023 Kailash's approach expanded to a neighboring property, now called Annapurna Ecovillage.

A short presentation will highlight many of the projects from both sites. This will be followed by a tour of the premises.
