Charles and Nicole Gillick share a deep love for hair—and through their passion for styling, they also found love for each other. With a rich family history in the salon and barbershop industry, they opened Blu in 2009 with a clear vision: to create a salon grounded in team harmony, warm hospitality, and exceptional customer service. Through years of business consulting and trial and error, they brought this vision to life, rekindling their passion for the industry in the process. Today, they consider the Blu team their extended family and have been joined in their mission by their son, two daughters, and daughter-in-law. With over 30 years as licensed stylists and 20 as salon owners, Charles and Nicole are committed to high-level education and now travel the U.S. teaching as part of the Modern Salon Services and Davines North America Education Teams. Their drive to uplift those pursuing salon careers has led them to create impactful programs like Reinventing Beauty, designed to unite stylists, salon owners, and clients in making a positive difference.
