About this event

This 2.5-hour, training workshop offers outreach workers, victim services professionals, and case managers the tools to navigate their own trauma while supporting others. Serving high-risk communities in violence prevention roles, you are often exposed to the most intense human suffering. This training addresses the critical need for personal healing and self-care while grieving and processing trauma. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how to manage their own trauma, develop practical self-care strategies, and foster resilience in their work.

As professionals who regularly assist victims and survivors, managing your emotional health can sometimes take a backseat. This training acknowledges the weight of this work and emphasizes the importance of addressing your own grief and trauma, creating boundaries, and avoiding burnout. With trauma-informed principles woven throughout, the session will include engaging exercises, reflective discussions, and evidence-based practices to help you care for yourself while continuing your vital work. Learn strategies to balance your emotional needs, manage vicarious trauma, and protect your well-being in the face of the daily stress of working with vulnerable populations.
