Restoring Hope: Collaborative Approaches to Homelessness

Join us for an impactful panel session that brings together leaders, advocates, and service providers committed to addressing homelessness in our community. This gathering is designed to foster dialogue, highlight ongoing efforts, and spark innovative collaboration.

Our distinguished panelists include representatives from:

  • Columbia Police Department (CPD) – emphasizing outreach over criminalization
  • Richland County Government – advancing policy and community response
  • South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center – providing advocacy and legal support
  • MIRCI (Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc.) – delivering critical behavioral health services
  • Leadership in Social Work – strengthening the human services framework

Through engaging discussion, the panel will:

  • Highlight the continuous work being done across sectors to mitigate homelessness in Columbia.
  • Demonstrate the importance of collaborative solutions that combine resources, advocacy, and compassion.
  • Offer insights into effective strategies for prevention, intervention, and long-term stability.

This is more than a conversation — it’s a call to action. By bringing diverse perspectives to the table, we aim to restore hope and build sustainable pathways toward housing and support for our most vulnerable neighbors.

Together, we can make a difference.
