Why Now
We are living and leading in times of profound transformation—social, environmental, and economic. This retreat offers space to slow down, reflect deeply, and reimagine leadership that is rooted in personal values, interconnection, and collective wellbeing.
What You’ll Experience
This day-long retreat is designed to support both personal reflection and collaborative exchange through a series of embodied, creative, and connective practices. Together, we will explore:
🌱 Visioning for Personal & Organizational Alignment Bring your reflections into focus by articulating aligned visions of success—for yourself, your organization, and the communities you serve.
🌀 Guided Journaling & Deep Questioning Through reflective writing prompts, inquiry-based dialogue, and restorative communication explore your core beliefs and values, personal definition of success, and your leadership role in this moment of transition and possibility.
🌍 Earth Mandala Creation We will spend time grounding in the forest, co-creating a temporary mandala from natural materials as an offering and intention-setting practice. This collaborative art piece invites presence, beauty, and reciprocity with the land.
🍲 Conscious Eating & Nourishment Enjoy a lovingly prepared, seasonal lunch with intention and mindfulness, connecting with one another and the food that sustains us.
🔥 Group Circle & Fire Circle Gather in a sacred circle to share stories, challenges, insights, and dreams. In the evening, we’ll close around the fire—an ancient space of transformation and truth-telling—to honor what we’re letting go and what we’re carrying forward.

About Your Facilitators
Laura King: As a Leadership Coach, Facilitator and Mediator I center human relationships, mindfulness, and communication in my work. I know that at the heart of growing communities and organizations is growing each unique person. I have 25 years of experience exploring both the art and science of adult development while asking leaders to stretch inward for a more embodied leadership to cultivate connected and trusting teams. My workshops and coaching focus on the human need to learn and innate desire to realize one’s full potential.
Jonah Fertig-Burd: I'm a facilitator, coach, and creative leader supporting individuals, organizations, and communities to navigate change with courage, collaboration, and care. Through my practice, InterRooted, I help people cultivate shared leadership, deepen collective purpose, and design more liberatory, interconnected systems. I bring over 20 years of experience founding and supporting cooperatives, nonprofits, and cross-sector collaborations. I’m a peer advisor with the US Federation of Worker Cooperatives and co-owner of Celebration Tree Farm & Wellness Center, a cooperative space for trees, healing, creativity, and connection in Maine. My work integrates group process, systems thinking, and creative practice to support meaningful transformation. I serve on the boards of Maine Inside Out, the Cooperative Fund of the Northeast, and Land in Common. I live with my wife and two kids in Wabanaki territory in Durham, Maine — and I love cooking, making art, playing music, and walking in the woods.
