Tamalpa does not record nor permit the recording of any classes or workshops due to the sensitive and sometimes vulnerable nature of the work, and to protect student privacy.
This online workshop series invites you to slow down, to release unnecessary tension, and reclaim your body’s natural rhythms.
Using Anna Halprin’s somatic approach and the tools of the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, we welcome breath to let go and let in, and we open to movement that restores our inner resources.
Tuning in to bodily sensations, we’ll start from the floor to standing to moving through space, finding our sense of support, fluidity, and vitality. We’ll also attune to the Earth as an ally and mirror—reminding us that we can draw from Earth’s steady rhythms, that we can rest, renew, and rise.
Through drawing and writing, we’ll give voice to the physical, emotional, and mental landscapes that emerge when we allow our body to lead.
Come as you are! Have a comfortable space to move and drawing and writing materials on hand.
To get the most out of this online class, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device and reliable internet service. If you are using a handheld device, such as a pad or phone, please be sure to use a stand for your device so that it is held securely in place. You will want to have your hands free and be able to move freely and safely during movement exercises without worrying about your device falling. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for the drawing activity and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.
