Resonant Frequency: The Healing Power of Parkinson's
Overview
Resonant Frequency is a workshop based on a program created by the Institute for Poetic Medicine to integrate poetry and poem-making into mental health and wellness programs. No prior experience with poetry is necessary. Workshop participants will read, write and share poems in a creative and safe environment to explore relevant life-skill themes:
1. Poetry as a Tool for Wellness
2. Listening to Self and Others
3. Understanding, Self-Compassion, and Empathy
4. Making It Real with Healthy Choices
5. Overcoming Obstacles, Generating Forgiveness
6. Riding the Waves of Change: Creating Hope and Transformation
7. Moment-to-Moment: Being in Gratitude
8. Practicing Self-Care
Our premise is that poem-making can help people living with Parkinson’s to live better and with more wholeness in our lives.
We will meet on Zoom for 8 sessions beginning in October 2025. Meeting dates: 10/21, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, 1/13, 1/27, 2/10, and 2/24. We will meet at 1pm Eastern (noon central, 11am mountain, 10am pacific) for 90 minutes.
Cost: $40 for the full 8 sessions (fees may be reduced or waived upon special request to The Quiver).
