Resilience & Intention Setting Workshop: Healthy Habits for a New Year
Event Information
About this Event
Join Lissy Donovan to learn about how to be more resilient amidst challenges & setting intentions to carry into the New Year in this virtual workshop.
2020 was not what you expected it to be.
This year was intense. The goals you set for yourself for this year might have been made last December, when the world functioned a bit differently than it does today. Your life may not look the same as it did in that moment at all. Holding yourself to those same goals, that you may have set for others rather than yourself, is not the move to make it out of this year with the resilience that you are capable of.
What is resilience anyways? Resilience is when we are able to recover from unexpected or difficult circumstances quickly. When we can choose our own wellbeing in the face of crisis or adversity, we are able to move away from stress and recover from it more quickly. Resilience is all about adapting to what is. It can create room for growth and learning even in the midst of transitions.
If you feel like you are having a hard time controlling anxiety, or you are finding it hard not to take some of what's happening in your life or how you are feeling as a personal failure...
Good news!
This is something you can get better at.
In this workshop, we will talk about how to get these “muscles” in shape, so that you can start feeling more able to adapt, start feeling like you have a little more agency, so that you can feel better even while meeting new challenges that are bound to come up. We will talk techniques and tools you can use to get your own psychological resilience in shape, help yourself stay flexible and able to adapt, and care for yourself as needed in the current context, whatever that may bring.
So what makes us more emotionally or mentally resilient?
You will leave this workshop with new tools, reminders of things you may know, and a place you can come back to for the whole of 2021 to remind yourself as needed to help you build your own emotional well being in the midst of change, and challenge.
It's about to be New Years.
Instead of making vague resolutions that are impossible to live up to, we will walk you through setting meaningful intentions for the year ahead. You will get tools to set goals that align with your values, help you find more accountability and the will to follow through.
This workshop will help you show up for yourself with kindness and compassion, while still holding yourself accountable.
This workshop is for you if this year has gotten intense, if you feel like you want to move away from just coping, if you want a little help getting through this winter with your mental health in mind, or if you want to give yourself a little reminder to keep being good to yourself while looking forward in times of uncertainty.
This is about helping you see what you have gleaned from this year, learn new skills so that you don’t have to continue leaning on old crutches or survival strategies to cope all the time, and setting intentions and goals in line with your values to help you stay healthy moving through next year. It is about helping you build in choice, because your needs will not be the same all of the time.
If you want to remind yourself of what is important, experiment to find what works to help you stay as healthy as possible, learn some new tools to manage your anxiety and stress, this is for you.
If you want support to set goals and intentions that are aligned with your values, this is for you.
If you want to reset and find some self-kindness and practice compassion, this is for you.
I am so glad you found this resource.
You will have access to the recording, so you are free to use this workshop again as needed. If you want a refresher, or to set intentions quarterly you can come back to it. If you'd like the reminder whenever a big transition comes up, or revisit after big shifts or surprises in life, you are able to watch again.
May it serve you in moving through the ups and downs of life and help you face next year with a greater sense of your own wholeness and agency in dealing with whatever comes.
This workshop is available on a sliding scale. Please read through the descriptions of who fits at which level to determine how to be in right relationship with the cost of this workshop.
$75 Pay it Forward: All of your needs are easily met, you have extra financially. Paying a little extra will not create financial hardship for you. This level allows us to offer a sliding scale, to help cover the cost for those who have less.
$50 True Cost: You are able to cover all of your basic needs with ease, financially, and would like to pay in to the true cost of the workshop.
$25 A Little Help: Your basic needs are not met. If you have trouble covering costs, or are experiencing financial instability and all the stresses that come with it, this one is for you.
This sliding scale option is meant to make this workshop accessible for all. Please place yourself on the scale responsibly. This sliding scale is based on the work of Alexis J. Cunningfolk. To help you decipher where to locate yourself, you can find her work here.
